After more than eight years in Aries, Chiron briefly stepped into Taurus this summer and gave us a preview of what comes next: questions of worth, security, money, the body, comfort & what helps us feel grounded. Then Venus entered Scorpio on September 10 and immediately opposed Chiron, pulling those Taurus themes straight into relationship, intimacy, trust, attachment & shared resources.

This is not an invitation to become absorbed in what hurt us. It is an invitation to notice how much authority the wound still carries over identity, courage, self-worth, and the way we meet life. The intensity of white-golden energy pouring in from the Great Central Suns and the Suns beyond Suns is unlike anything we ever integrated before. This is because of huge changes and shifts in the Universal Core, and the Core within the Core, as the whole Universe is ascending.

September 17, 2026: Chiron retrogrades into Aries

In an astrological chart, Chiron represents our core wound. Aries – the first sign of the Zodiac – represents the initiatory energy of birth. This is the excitement of new beginnings, rich with enthusiasm and the desire to experience all that life has to offer. For those born with Chiron in Aries, this wild enthusiasm is in some way dampened early in life. Questions of self-worth arise and belief in oneself suffers.

At a collective level, Chiron in Aries has brought into question the worth and value of societal norms that form the core of society. One expression of Aries is seen in the archetype of the Warrior. The role of the Warrior in society has been up for examination, as have societal responses to the conditions of war.

In the Egyptian pantheon Chiron is associated with Anubis in his role as the guide to the newly deceased into the underworld. For Anubis, this is his soul purpose. It is only when he is able to release his emotional attachment to his wounding that he can step into who he is meant to be.

Transits from Chiron are important milestones in the process of self-healing. During our 50th year Chiron returns to the place it was when we were born. This transit provides opportunities to measure how far we have come in finding the gift in our wound. The ability to perceive a wound as an opportunity for growth is an essential part of stepping out of the mindset of the wounded child into our personal expression of The Wounded Healer.
