2026 opened with a strong emphasis on the earth sign Capricorn. Since the beginning of January, the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars have all been moving through Capricorn and in an opposition to Jupiter in Cancer. The energetic feel of this alignment is reminiscent of – late 2019 through 2020 – when Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto were in a powerful conjunction in Capricorn. During that transit, circumstances conspired to energetically dismantle the established structure of society.

Capricorn represents the collective systems that provide a container for our lives. The shadow of Capricorn is an authoritarianism that is emblematic of the perspective of The Patriarchy; a “Do not question my authority” attitude. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn – the principle of constraint – and in Egyptian myth is allied with Khnum, creator of the life forms who live on Earth.
