In this article, I will explain Project Blue Beam: where it started, what it is, and where we are with it now. But the original theory is much more complicated and elaborate than that… so I will explain it in detail.
Project Blue Beam is a conspiracy theory that was theorized in the 1980s and 1990s that NASA (or another secret government-related agency) was planning to implement a New Age religion with the Antichrist as its leader – and to begin a New World Order through a technologically simulated Second Coming using holograms. The claims were first theorized in 1994 by journalist Serge Monast and later published in his book (which is now nearly impossible to obtain).
The book was called Project Blue Beam (NASA) and proponents of the theory claim that Monast and another unidentified journalist, who died of heart attacks in 1996, were in fact murdered, and that the Canadian government kidnapped Monast’s daughter in an attempt to prevent him from investigating Project Blue Beam.
In the early 1990s, Monast spoke to French TV presenter Richard Glenn of Ésotérisme Expérimental, and he explained his theory, Project Blue Beam:
She explains how events that were happening at the time, particularly movies being made (Space Odyssey, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc.) were being used to prepare people psychologically for the dramatic conclusion of the conspiracy. A fake alien invasion.

If we look deeper into the theory today, we realize that much of what he said seems to make sense, while some things seem absurd. Allow me to elaborate:

The theory was very popular in the 90s, with many web pages dedicated to the subject in the 2000s and countless YouTube videos explaining it (which have now, unsurprisingly, been censored by Google and YouTube).
Monast gave a lecture on the theory in the mid-1990s (a transcript of one of these lectures is available with considerable research), before writing and publishing his book, which has not been reissued by its current publisher and is extremely difficult to find.
However, a three-page summary of the theory, apparently written by Monast himself, appeared in his French-language journal RINF (Réseau international de nouvelles par fax) in late 1994. The scant pages and videos appear to date back to four documents:

A GeoCities page written by David Openheimer that appears to elaborate on the theories of the original book.
A page on the educate-yourself.org website compiled in 2005, which appears to include a translation of the book from French.
